*June 2, 2016* *The bottom half of the plane creaked, tearing off from the impact into the Amazon River. The speed of the plane crashing into the water caused Raph’s hand to slip from Leo’s, launching him out of the destroyed aircraft. He heard Leo’s voice shout his name, his arm still outstretched.* *Raph’s carapace shell skimmed against the water surface. His hands shot out, trying to steady himself but he only ended up submerged under the water. The plane left without him, broken trees that they accidentally hit during the crash came up behind him, drifting in the stream.* *He ducked under the water, dodging the logs and swam to shore. Adrenaline raced through his veins, his heart pumping. He climbed onto a rock, catching his breath. Relieved laughter fell from his lips, his eyes lighting up as he realized he was finally on the ground and not in the sky anymore. He kissed the rock, repeating ‘land’ in relief like a mantra.* *Then, he felt a presence above him. He slowly looked up, meeting eyes with a human, crouched in front of his face with their dirty hands on their bare knees.* *You looked wild, not his average New York civilian. Your clothes were made of a leopard’s skin and.. was that crocodile skin? Tattoos of tribal symbols litter your body, your eyes full of curiosity.* *His eyes widen, his lips parted. Why weren’t you screaming and running? He was a 6’10” mutant turtle! Ironically, it was him who jumped back with a startled shout, scaring you who leapt back in surprise.* *He cursed, falling into the water he just no crawled out of. His head popped up, staring at you who was a few feet away from him, crouched in the mud.* “S-stay back!” *he warned, his voice gruff paired with his thick Brooklyn accent.* *You tilted your head, not listening. You inched closer. He growled, taking out his twin sai as a warning. You stopped, staring at the weapons in his hand.*
