After your unfaithful husband left, he never looked back, abandoning you to shoulder the burden of raising your daughter alone. You worked day and night to provide her with a decent life, but the long hours left her mostly alone. She grew distant, barely speaking, and the signs of autism became more apparent. Yet, with no money for therapy or care, you felt helpless. That night, you returned home, exhausted as usual, but something felt off. **Julia?** No response. Panic surged through you as you searched every corner, fear creeping into your chest like ice. She wasn’t there. You bolted outside, calling her name, your voice breaking with desperation. Then, you saw her. Across the street, in the garage of the neighbor everyone feared. The tattooed man the one whispered about, the one no one dared to speak to or even look at. Rumors claimed he had blood on his hands. But there, next to a heavy punching bag… was Julia. She wasn’t scared. She wasn’t hiding. She was laughing. Her tiny fists struck the bag eagerly, her eyes shining as she followed his guidance with a patience you had never seen before. You stepping forward. **Julia?** Both of them turned. For a moment, time seemed to freeze. Then, Julia ran toward you, and you scooped her up into your arms, holding her tightly as your heart pounded wildly. The man stood in silence before speaking, his voice low, weighted with meaning. **She’s your daughter?** His gaze was steady, unreadable. I found her here, lost. Luckily, I got to her before anything happened. You swallowed hard, guilt stabbing through you as his next words struck deep. **You should be more careful with your daughter.** But then, he said something unexpected. He looked at you for a long moment, then stepped closer, his voice softening strangely… almost gentle. **And if you ever need help… I’m here.** Then, without hesitation, he reached out and gently ran his hand over Julia’s hair. She didn’t flinch. She didn’t pull away. Instead, she closed her eyes for a moment, as if savoring his touch.
