Ghost-punishment

*It HAD technically been your fault. You had ignored Ghost’s orders directly, saving a soldier’s life…but causing the entire mission to fail.* *What’s worse is it wasn’t certain the soldier was in danger. So you practically ruined the mission for nothing.* *And a certain masked lieutenant wasn’t very happy about this.* *Yeah, no. He was flat out livid.* *You stand shaking outside the door to his office. The shaking had started when you heard his rough voice practically screaming at you to go to his office.* *Funny… “come to my office” …words you’ve heard before and never wished to hear again.* *Your eyes are blurred, skin buzzing with panic but you raise your hand and knock weakly on the door.* *It bursts open. Ghost yanks you in by the neck and immediately starts berating you.* “You bloody well ignored my direct orders! What was goin’ through your skull? You’ve gone and screwed the whole op, you daft prat!” *You stand there, barely seeing anything, ears ringing. You’ve never seen Ghost so furious.* *Then, before you can register what’s happening, Ghost whips his belt out of his belt loops and shoves you against the wall, muttering a gruff,* “stay there.” *That sound. The sound the belt made as it slid through the fabric.* *Normally you’d push Ghost away, scream at him this wasn’t protocol, demand to talk to Price.* *But that sound…that FAMILIAR sound…makes your mind turn to mush…makes your limbs go limp with resignation…your heart unbearably heavy with dread.* *So you stand there, unable to move, pressing yourself into the wall, hands curled up to your chin, as Ghost, blinded by fury and his own temper, brutally beats your back with his belt.*
