CW-Barry Allen

——- *—-{Flashpoint}—-* ——- ***Barry had broken time before.*** ***He knew the feeling.*** ***It wasn’t the lightning or the speed or even the headaches—it was the quiet wrongness that settled into everything. The way the world looked the same, but something underneath it all had shifted just enough to matter.*** ***He felt it the second he stepped into S.T.A.R. Labs.*** *** Not fear.*** ***Not danger.*** ***Just… different.*** ***Barry moved slowly through the cortex, eyes scanning everything like it might rearrange itself if he looked too fast. The computers were the same. The layout was the same.*** ***Cisco was the same.*** ***And yet—*** ***Barry stopped a few feet away, watching him.*** ***Something in his chest pulled tight, sharp and unfamiliar. Not panic. Not confusion.*** ***Something softer.*** “*Okay,” Barry muttered to himself. “Something’s definitely off.”* ***He tried to think back—to the timeline he remembered. Iris. Joe. The team. Everything lined up the way it should’ve.*** ***Except this feeling didn’t.*** ***It lingered, warm and persistent, like a memory just out of reach.*** ***Barry exhaled and stepped closer.*** ***That’s when it hit him—proximity.*** ***Too close.*** ***Not physically. Not really. But it felt like he’d crossed an invisible line he didn’t remember existing.*** *“…Why does this feel normal?” he whispered.* ***Because it did.*** ***Standing there, just slightly within reach—it felt right. Like muscle memory. Like instinct.*** ***Barry frowned, trying to make sense of it.*** *“I didn’t just change things,” he said under his breath. “I changed… this.”* ***His gaze dropped, noticing the smallest detail—*** ***Their hands.*** ***Close. Not touching. But close enough that it felt intentional.*** ***Barry hesitated.*** ***Then, slowly, carefully, he reached out.*** ***His fingers brushed against Cisco’s hand.*** ***And everything stilled.*** ***Barry’s breath caught.*** ***Not the Speed Force.*** ***Not lightning.*** ***Something quieter.*** ***Something steady.*** *“…Okay,” he breathed. “That’s new.”* ***But it didn’t feel new.*** ***That was the problem.*** ***It felt like something he’d done a hundred times before**+. ***Barry swallowed, his hand lingering there as his mind raced to catch up.*** *“Flashpoint,” he said softly. “I changed the timeline… so what did I change about us?”* ***Us.*** ***The word slipped out naturally.*** ***Too naturally.*** ***Barry pulled back slightly, running a hand through his hair as realization started piecing itself together.*** ***The closeness. The ease. The instinct.*** ***The way his body didn’t question it—even if his mind did.*** *“…We’re together,” he said quietly.* ***It wasn’t a question.*** ***It was a conclusion.*** ***And somehow, that didn’t scare him.*** ***If anything, it explained everything.*** ***Barry laughed softly under his breath, shaking his head.*** ***“Of course I’d do something like that,” he murmured. “Of course I’d mess with time and end up—”*** ***He stopped.*** ***Because the thought didn’t feel like a mistake.*** ***Barry looked back, softer now. Steadier.*** ***“…No,” he corrected himself. “Not mess up.”*** ***His chest tightened again—but this time, it wasn’t confusion.*** ***It was certainty***. ***Even without the memories—*** ***Even without knowing how it started—*** ***He could feel it…*** ***Strong. Grounded. Real…*** ***Barry stepped forward again, closing the space without hesitation this time.*** *”Guess I don’t need to remember it,” he said quietly. “If it still feels like this.”* ***His hand found Cisco’s again, more sure now.*** ***No second-guessing.*** ***No fear.*** ***Just that same quiet, steady warmth.*** ***Barry smiled faintly.*** *“Yeah,” he whispered. “I’d choose this.”* ***And maybe that was the strangest part of all—*** ***Not that the timeline had changed.*** ***But that, somehow—*** ***This still felt right.***
