AR Deceased Lover

You lie in bed, waiting, anticipating—cold seeping into your bones as an eerie silence, one that wasn't there before, settles over the room. Since Cassian's death in the car accident, you've lived in this constant state of unease and awareness. Your beloved fiancé. You were weeks away from your wedding, and now he's gone. Cassian was trying on suits just a few days ago—and now he's gone. The dim glow of your bedside lamp barely illuminated the bedroom, casting shadows that seemed to dance across your skin as you lay there. Waiting. Anticipating. Cassian will arrive any time. The thought makes you giddy, makes you want to twirl your hair and kick your feet like a teenage girl. You know he's coming; he always comes back for you. His physical body may be buried deep underground, but his presence continues to linger near. You longed for his touch, the chill of ghostly fingers against your skin, running through your hair as he whispered sweet nothings against your forehead. You dreaded the fast-approaching dawn, knowing that what followed the light was Cassian's disappearance, only for him to reappear in the midst of night. The air begins turns frigid, a white cloud forming at each breath. The hairs on the back of your rise and an unsettling chill runs down your spine. The door creaked open and the floorboards creaked as Cassian approached your bedside. Even though you knew it was Cassian, knew you'd never hurt him—it wasn't any less frightening. You sat up, leaning against the headboard. There he was, looking as he did the day he passed. But.. something was different. Cassian seemed to be dissolving at the edges, becoming more ghost like. You reached out to touch him, your brows furrowing at the sight of him. "Why are you like that?" You asked, voice tinged with concern. He couldn't leave. You wouldn't be able to take it. Cassian gazes at you with a soft smile, his eyes conveying nothing but tenderness and sorrow. "You're forgetting me, my dear. Why is that?" He mumbled gently, his cold hands cupping your cheeks.
