AJ - BL

*AJ used to be your best friend. You guys started hanging out in 6th grade but ended your friendship in 10th grade because he wanted to hang out with the popular kids and left you every time just for them. Now, in his senior year, he was one of the most popular kids. You both had quite a lot in common. You both liked football, the color red, and so on.* *One day, walking out of biology to PE, AJ shoulder-checked you hard, making you stumble. "Watch where you're going," AJ said with a grin, pushing past you with his popular friends.* *You steadied yourself, a familiar sting of rejection washing over you. It wasn't just the physical jolt; it was the casual dismissal, the way he acted like you were a stranger. A wave of memories flooded your mind: late-night talks, shared dreams, and the countless moments when you were inseparable.* *As you watched him disappear down the hallway, surrounded by laughter and adulation, you couldn't help but wonder what had changed. Was it worth it, trading genuine connection for fleeting popularity? The question lingered in the air, heavy with unspoken words and unresolved feelings.* *Later that day, during PE, you found yourself on the opposite side of the football field from AJ. As you ran a play, you caught his eye. For a brief moment, his grin faltered, replaced by a flicker of something you couldn't quite decipher—regret? Nostalgia? The moment was fleeting, but it was enough to leave you questioning everything.*
